At Bliss, we specialize in working in pediatrics and with adults with a variety of speech and language disorders and with speech therapy needs, including stuttering, fluency, voice disorders, articulation, and language disorders. We understand the importance of effective communication towards one’s quality of life, and take pride in providing you or your child with the best care possible to meet your speech and language goals. Through the care and guidance of one of our highly trained and experienced speech/language pathologists, you or your child will learn to speak clearly, improve your communication skills, and, through improved speech and language abilities, enjoy an enhanced quality of life.
At Bliss, a speech/language pathologist works with you or with your child to determine whether or not intervention is needed. During your first visit, our experienced speech/language pathologist conducts a comprehensive evaluation with testing to assess if you or your child can benefit from intervention. We look at whether speech and language skills are at age level and whether speech therapy would prove effective to meeting objectives. In cases where intervention is recommended, our speech/language pathologist develops an individualized plan to help meet you or your child’s therapy goals, whether that means pronouncing sounds correctly and clearly expanding vocabulary skills, reducing stuttering, or improving cognition and auditory processing skills. At Bliss, our speech/language pathologists specialize in areas across the speech and language spectrum.
Speech and language disorders can result from a variety of causes including hearing loss, cleft palate, learning differences, developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down Syndrome, traumatic brain injury, stroke, vocal pathology, genetics or from an unknown cause.
Our speech/language pathologists will teach the use of correct speech and language skills in the best way possible so that your child, or you as an adult, can be heard and understood by others loudly and clearly.
