Team Member Bio

My name is Susan Heston and I’ve been with Bliss Speech & Hearing since August 2017. I received a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and a Master of Science in Communication Disorders, both from the University of Texas at Dallas. I was fortunate to train under Brenda Bliss in Auditory-Verbal Therapy (AVT) and Aural Rehabilitation.

I have been practicing as a Speech Language Pathologist since 2009 and have experience working with children and adults with a wide range of communication needs. I began my career in Early Childhood Intervention and later transitioned to the school setting, where I worked with groups of children addressing language, articulation, and social communication skills.

My favorite part about being a speech-language pathologist at Bliss is the opportunity to provide individualized therapy and build strong relationships with clients and their families. It brings me so much joy to see young clients arrive in the waiting room with big smiles, excited for their session. The camaraderie and collaboration among the team at Bliss are truly special, with constant communication and shared dedication to helping each client succeed!
