Hello! My name is Jennifer McKensey. I am a licensed speech-language pathologist with a deep passion for helping individuals of all ages and supporting families throughout their journey. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Texas State University, my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Woman’s University, and my PhD in Cognitive and Instructional Psychology from Grand Canyon University.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in public schools, hospitals, home health, and private practice. I’ve provided evaluation and treatment across many areas, working with both children and adults. Every setting has taught me something new about the value of patience, curiosity, and teamwork.
I advanced quickly from frontline clinician into operations and played a key role in developing and expanding rehabilitation services within Texas Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Centers (PPECCs). That work allowed me to help build strong, interdisciplinary teams and design systems that supported medically complex children and their families.
Today, as Clinical Director at Bliss Speech and Hearing Services, I bring that same heart to my work. I am passionate about mentoring therapists, building programs that improve access and quality of care, and helping families feel supported every step of the way. My favorite part of this role is watching progress unfold, whether it is a breakthrough in communication, a family’s relief, or a clinician’s growth.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two rambunctious little ones. I also love cooking, baking, listening to music, and finding time for a TV show, when the kids let me have the remote!
