Hello! My name is Deborah Zakon and I have more than 30 years of experience in speech-language pathology. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, and a Master of Science degree in Speeth Pathology from Brooklyn College in New York City.
I started my career working in a bilingual program for children with special needs, mainly Down Syndrome, for two years in New York City. I also worked in early childhood intervention for infants through three-year-olds, in New Jersey.
I have a variety of experience working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and a variety of experience working with patients with oral motor and myofunctional challenges. Additionally, I am experienced in therapy treating articulation disorders and phonological processing.
My favorite aspect of being a speech-languast pathologist is working with children, and helping them communicate better so that their true self shines through! I have been with Bliss Speech and Hearing since 2003, and I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of such a collaborative, caring, and positive environment, while providing individual therapy plans for each patient.
Outside of the office, I love spending time with family. During my free time, I enjoy walking, swimming, and creating photo books for all occasions.
