Skills & Qualification

  • Ability to assess and diagnose communication disorders in individuals of all ages, including children and adults.

  • Strong knowledge of speech and language acquisition, development, and disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, voice, and hearing.

  • Expertise in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to address communication needs and goals.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and treat complex communication disorders.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.

  • Mastery of electronic medical records systems and other technology used in speech-language pathology practice.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients of all ages to identify communication disorders and develops individualized treatment plans to address their needs.

  • Develops and implements treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices and accommodations to meet the unique needs of each patient.

  • Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions between services.

  • Provides therapy sessions that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient, including individual, group, and family therapy sessions.

  • Conducts regular assessments to evaluate patient progress and makes adjustments to treatment plans as needed.

  • Develops and implements educational programs to promote awareness and understanding of communication disorders and their impact on individuals and families.

  • Serves as a resource and consultant to other healthcare professionals and organizations on matters related to speech-language pathology.
