Team Member Bio

I’m Lily and I’ve been with the Bliss Speech and Hearing team since September 2024! I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders from Baylor University.

My experience includes working with children ages birth to three-years-old on early language development, and supporting early childhood and school-aged children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder to help improve their expressive and receptive language skills. Additionally, I have worked on addressing early childhood sensory feeding, treated adults with cognitive communication disorders, and am currently working with children diagnosed with articulation and phonological disorders.

I gained significant experience during a graduate student externship at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, TX, where I evaluated and treated speech, language, voice, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disorders in adults with conditions such as cerebrovascular accidents, traumatic brain injuries, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, I conducted and analyzed Modified Barium Swallow Studies to make appropriate diet recommendations.

I also completed graduate student internships at Hope & Believe Pediatric Clinic and Baylor Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic in Waco, TX. Through these internships, I gained experience evaluating and treating pediatric patients with diverse goals, including improving articulation, use of AAC devices, expressive and receptive language skills, feeding, fluency, and pragmatic language abilities.

My favorite part of being a speech-language pathologist is building relationships with my clients and their families, and working alongside them to achieve communication goals. Witnessing progress and seeing the confidence that grows in my clients is incredibly rewarding. Connecting with people, helping them overcome challenges, and enhancing their quality of life is what truly motivates and inspires me in this field!

I was recently married in August of 2024, and my husband and I enjoy going on walks with our goldendoodle, Frankie, spending time in the mountains skiing or hiking with family, trying new coffee shops, and finding new recipes to cook.
